Friday 2 April

Read Luke 23.32-43

“The soldiers also came up and mocked Him. They offered Him wine vinegar and said, ‘If You are the king of the Jews, save Yourself.’ There was a written notice above Him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS” (Lk.23.36-38)

“His subjects hated Him” and “don’t want this man to be our king” (Lk.19.14): He is thus crucified. But even there He reigns: His death brings forgiveness (v.34) and a future (v.43) to those who trust in Him.

Do you live in the past with regrets, or live for the future with expectancy and hope?

How would you describe to an unbelieving friend the ‘future’ to which you’re now looking forward?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I’m with that criminal on the cross, needing Your forgiveness day by day. Please Jesus, remember me.
