Kindly

Read Psalm 138.6

Though the LORD is exalted, He looks kindly on the lowly ..” (Ps.138.6)

This is the first of two instructive contrasts in the psalm. The psalmist marvels at the grace of God whereby He, the highly exalted one, looks kindly on the lowly. This was the note with which Mary started her great song of praise (Luke 1.46-55).

What is your testimony of the Lord looking with kindness on you?

This ‘mindset’ of Jesus is to be yours (Phil.2.5-11): what practical ways will this find expression in your life (Phil.2.3-4)?

Prayer: As You have been mindful of me, Your humble servant, help me, O my Saviour, to be mindful of the needs of those today whom society ignores and discounts.
