Saturday 27 November

Preserved

Read Psalm 138.7

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life ..” (Ps.138.7)

The second great contrast sets the greatness and grace of the Lord’s delivering power against the adversity and hostility which His people must sometimes face. We will have trouble in this world, but our Lord has overcome this world (Jn.16.33)!

The testimony of the psalmist becomes the promise of God: do you need to hold onto this today?

How have you seen the Lord ‘stretching out His hand’ to save you?

Prayer: Thank You, my Lord, for Your sovereign grace and saving power. Keep me safe, Lord, in the face of all the trials and troubles which this day may bring.
