Jesus

Read Daniel 7.11-14

“.. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed ..” (Dan.7.14)

Daniel gets to see Jesus: He is fully human, and yet comes not from ‘the great sea’ (v.2) of humanity, but with the clouds of heaven. His coming to the Ancient of Days points to the completion of His work and the lasting kingdom He has established.

Why did the Jewish authorities react as they did when Jesus applied this vision to Himself (see eg Mk.14.55-64)?

How do these verses inform your perspective on the ‘boastful words’ of those powers which set themselves against God and His people?

Prayer: You are my hiding place, O Lord. You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance: whenever I am afraid I will trust in You.
