“.. Simeon took Him in his arms and praised God ..” (Lk.2.28)
It would be hard to find a simpler and more graphic picture of the essence of faith than this! The work of the Spirit of God. The personal appropriation of Jesus as your sole Saviour. The peace of God filling your heart with abundant praise.
How alert and responsive are you to the promptings of the Holy Spirit?
To what extent and in what ways is your life now marked far more now by peace since trusting in the Lord Jesus?
Prayer: How I thank You, Father, for the gift of Your Son and for that gracious work of Your Spirit enabling me to lay hold of Jesus as my all-sufficient Saviour.
