Waiting
Read Luke 2.25-26
“.. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel ..” (Lk.2.25)
Waiting patiently is a fundamental characteristic of the life of faith. God’s promises will always be fulfilled – believers trust Him for that. Like Simeon we, too, are waiting with a sure hope for a promised consummation of all God’s gracious promises.
How does the Holy Spirit help you wait patiently for the Lord?
When and how were your eyes opened to see in Jesus the one in whom all God’s promises find their fulfilment?
Prayer: I need to learn the grace of patience, Lord! Help me to rest in the assurance that in Your unfailing love You will indeed act on behalf of those who wait for You.
