Pressure
Read Daniel 6.6-9
“.. ‘Now, Your Majesty, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered ..” (Dan.6.8)
Whereas previously pressure had been put on Daniel and his friends to embrace pagan religion (without reneging on their own faith), the stakes are now raised – the enemies of the faith resort to law to force believers to drop facets of their faith.
In what regards can you recognize a similar pattern in today’s society?
What was the agenda behind this move on the part of the ‘chief ministers and satraps’, and what ‘agenda’ is being pursued (through law) today?
