Prayer
Read Daniel 6.10
“.. he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before ..” (Dan.6.10)
Daniel was neither mystified, horrified nor petrified by the decree of the king. He simply held on to God’s promise to Solomon (see 2 Chron.6.36-39 and 7.12-16), and rested in the sufficiency of His grace and the faithfulness of His covenant love.
What lessons do you learn from Daniel’s perspective, from his pattern of prayer, and indeed from his very posture?
How might you develop a more regular and disciplined prayer life?
Prayer: Lord, teach me to pray! Help me to resist every pressure which would keep from engaging with You in prayer day by day and through each day.
