Boastful
Read Daniel 7.7-8
“.. In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast – terrifying and frightening and powerful ..” (Dan.7.7)
As God’s purpose is worked out, evil is drawn to the surface and the true nature of fallen humanity is revealed in the increasingly brutal strength and sophistication of the kingdoms and empires which exercise their sway across the globe.
In what respects is this 4th ‘beast’ ‘different’ (v.7) from the others?
‘Horns’ in Scripture signify strength: how does this combination of ‘strength’ and ’boastful speaking’ show itself in the world today?
Prayer: Forgive me, Lord, when I have adopted the culture of the kingdoms of this world, trampling on others in my concern to get ahead and speaking boastfully.
