Glory
Read Philippians 1.12-18
“The important thing is that in every way .. Christ is preached” (Phil.1.18)
Paul was never one to be self-absorbed! His primary concern was not with his own needs, feelings, or circumstances – but with the progress of the gospel and the proclamation of Christ. He rejoiced that his own adversity occasioned God’s glory.
How can you cultivate in your own heart the preoccupation with Jesus which Paul expresses here?
Are there issues of ‘envy’, ‘rivalry’ and ‘selfish ambition’ in your life with which you need to deal?
Prayer: Help me, Lord, throughout today, to see first Your kingdom and to pursue in all things Your glory. May Your name be praised, whatever that may involve for me.
