    Glory

    Read John 9.1-5

“.. that the works of God might be displayed in him ..” (Jn.9.3)

The disciples are pre-occupied with the past and the issue of blame; Jesus is concerned more for the future and the issue of ‘fame’ – the glory of God being displayed and His fame being published abroad: His presence switches the lights on in a dark world!

To what extent do you have a ‘critical’ spirit and a finger-pointing instinct when things go wrong in your world?

How do you respond to those who point to all the suffering and injustice in the world and argue that there can’t be a God?

Prayer: Help me, Lord, to accept what can’t be changed and undone, and to seek by Your grace to take such situations forward in a way that makes for Your glory.
