Victory
Read Daniel 5.29-31
“.. That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom ..” (Dan.5.30-31)
So secure did Belshazzar believe himself to be that, with the Medo-Persian army at the gates of the city, he still presumed to hold this massive drunken feast and thumb the nose at God. But… God has the last word. Always. Rejoice in that today.
On what are you relying for your true and lasting security?
What other examples of a sudden turn-around in a person’s (or a people’s) circumstances can you think of?
Prayer: Yours, O Lord, is an everlasting kingdom! How glad I am that it’s into that kingdom that I’ve been brought, and how I rejoice in the victory of Your Son!
